Hopefully, this weekend I'll be participating in a workshop in "Applications of One-shot Quantum Information Theory" in Barbados.
Well, you might wonder what my work has to do with quantum information theory. Actually, the workshop will be devoted to studying frameworks more appropriate to the study of physical systems and possible applications in condensed matter and quantum cosmology.
Nevertheless, as it can be read from the topic of talks, it will be basically triggered to address the problem of black hole!!.
What makes this workshop unique is that it tries to make a bridge between the quantum information theory, as a theory of communication and computation for practical purposes, and fundamental physics concepts such as black holes and relativistic quantum mechanics.
It is rather a wild idea and an ambitious goal to achieve.
However, someone should step in!
I'll be presenting a short talk in which I'll do my best to convey the motivations we have in physics of gravity to develop a relativistic quantum information theory.
I can't wait to see what information theorists bring about fundamental physics.
