Gravity on the cutting edge

We really have strong evidences for the acceleration of the universe and we don't understand it.
I'm usually too skeptical about the interpretation of empirical data. This time, I really don't know what to say. The data is quite convincing.

Gravity keeps baffling its practitioners in all aspects.
It is messing up all our neat theories.

Standard Model of Particle Physics is working perfectly.
Quantum Field Theory looks more or less like a holy book that has an explanation for all interesting physics around us.

Just make a soup of fields and put it on the stove -in a thermal reservoir- and using the recipes in this holy cooking book, you can predict with astonishing accuracy what the outcome is.
You can spice it up by adding more and more interactions.
Any spice but gravity!
If you add a bit of gravity, the whole soup blows up!! and so do the recipe and the cooking book!!!
