Quantum Gravity

I'm losing my motivation of studying Quantum Gravity...
For all practical purposes, physics boils down to effective field theories. Why on earth should I care about Planckian physics?
So far learning String Theory has failed in convincing me to do Quantum Gravity...
Even I have started seriously doubting whether one should bother to study Black Holes!!!
Leave Black Hole physics to Quantum Information Theorists!!
