String Theory or Loop Quantum Gravity

Look at Einstein's field equations. On the left hand side, you have geometry and on the right, you have matter. A theory of quantum gravity can describe geometry as a form of matter (gravitons) or describe the matter as a form of geometry (loop quantum gravity?)... What do you think?
Are there other ways?

After all, it is important to be aware that whatever the answer is, it is an effective theory, defined at a certain energy scale! Forget about a scale-free theory! Not gonna be found, my friend! ever!
